Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan   Uzbekistan   Kyrgyzstan   Turkmenistan   Tajikistan   Tours

In the very heart of Central Asia the remote republic of Kazakhstan is situated. In terms of area it is the ninth largest country in the world with the population of somewhat less than 15 million people.

The territory of the Republic stretches from the low reaches of the Volga in the West to the foothills of the Altai mountains in the East – for some 3,000 km (a distance that spans two time zones), from West Siberian lowland in the north to the desert of Kyzylkum and the mountain range of Tien Shan in the south for some 2,000 km.

Much of Kazakhstan still looks the way it did when Genghis Khan and his hordes swept across the Central Asian steppes.

According to an Asian legend, somewhere in the Altai Mountains, which straddle Kazakhstan\'s borders with Russia and China, lies Shambhala – the paradise that will someday reveal itself.

Visit Kazakhstan and you will discover the land of ancient warriors of Genghis Khan, hot sands of deserts and alpenglow snow-caped peaks, hospitable shepherds and pristine wilderness, rushing streams and lush meadows.
