Armed Forces Museum

Displayed in the Museum is a broad range of objects relating to the history of the Russian Army, a rich collection of exhibits from the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, unique collection of combat and captured banners, weapons and decorations, drawings from the frontlines of the Great Patriotic War. Among the exhibits one can see a unique collection of weapons, awarded, personal and given as gifts, belonging to state and military figures. On the open-air ground one can see machinery, missiles, tanks (about 150 units).

The Central Museum of the Air Forces at Monino

The museum is located approximately 38 kilometers (23.5 miles) away from Moscow. It is the largest and best known aviation museum in Russia. The facility was an operational air base during 1932–1956. The museum was founded in 1958 and opened in 1960 at the original airfield location and in the airfield structures, occupying a total area of 22 hectares. It was founded under the initiative of Air Marshal S. A. Krasovsky, who at the time was head of the Air Force Academy. The Air Force Museum is still an integral part of the academy.

Nowadays the museum's collection contains over 160 flying machines, including planes, helicopters and gliders, along with a number of unique machines. The collection also includes a lot of model aircraft, weapons and ammunition, navigation instruments, radio and communication equipment, documents, letters, personal things of pilots, as well as many art exhibits. There are also many books, photos and films in the museum's library. It is the finest Russian aviation museum in existence and will be the highlight of any enthusiast's visit.

Kubinka Museum of Armored Vehicles

Museum of armoured vehicles and armament in Kubinka is the world's biggest collection of armored vehicles starting from the first machines of World War I to modern battle tanks. It is located 64 km away from Moscow. Its 290 items vary from 3–5 ton light tanks and armored cars to a super-heavy, 180 ton monster. There are 40 self-propelled guns from 57 to 600 caliber, 30 armored cars, 10 reconnaissance and command vehicles, and a variety of technical and engineer support vehicles. Items on display include many unique vehicles such as "Maus", Adam, T-35, T-50 and others.
